It’s finally time for our FALL RETREAT that we have all been looking forward to. I promise this will be my last time as the Chairperson and am looking forward to seeing all of you that have registered and the projects that you will be working on. I enjoy being there with all of you plus I always learn something new from you talented ladies. The only downside is that you always get me in trouble because I find myself wanting to do your beautiful projects and then my wallet gets thinner. I’m sure you already have your projects lined up but just a reminder to get that beautiful fabric out, rulers, rotary cutters, and start getting your items together for that fun, bonding time with our love of quilting.

 

Your new Quilt Retreat Team was introduced at the 2026 SPRING RETREAT but for those not in attendance, I would like to introduce them to you and they will be taking over starting the 2027 Spring Retreat.  Linda Clevenger, Valle Lee and Caryl Johnson

 

I’ve really enjoyed being your Retreat Chairperson for the last 2 plus years and putting this program together for you to enjoy. I would like to take this time to thank my wonderful team members. Valle Lee, Cora Lynn Montague, and Lisa Roskam

 

These three ladies all have special talents and hearts of gold. I certainly appreciate their help and their multiple talents they have added to this event.

 

Also, I would like to give a big thank you to our own QUILTING DUDE and his nephew!

Preparing the event center for each retreat takes a lot of work, and so does returning it to its original layout afterward. Dennis and his nephew have helped set-up every retreat I have chaired. This is no small task, as it requires moving very large, heavy tables and chairs into the needed arrangement.

Wishing you all the best and looking forward to seeing many of our members that annually attend this event and new faces that will be joining our guild’s semi-annual retreat this fall.

 

It has been a fun experience being your NIQ Retreat Chairperson and I hope that you have enjoyed your time at the events. My first quilt retreat was with the NIQ Guild and I was hooked!
